I was browsing the high end stuff on guru auction and got to thinking how irritating it must be when stuff is selling for stacks of ectos and armbraces and the price is fluctuating so much lately (or in the case of armbraces, dropping) What if merchants sold a new item, 'piggy bank' or whatever you want to call it, with a unique icon that doesn't look like ectos or anything else, that they sold for 100k and ALSO bought for 100k. Therefore using it in trades would mean it's worth exactly 100k, never more or less. It wouldn't drop from monsters or be available any other way so the price would never fluctuate. Then you could use it to buy and sell, or sell it to a merch if you want the 100k instead. I doubt at this point they'd do that kind of overhaul to the trading system, but it sure seems like it would be helpful for those kinds of trades (not that I could afford any of that stuff lol)

The 100k limit per character is presumably there for a reason. I don't see that disappearing any time soon, regardless of how you propose to circumvent it.

Also, this has been suggested innumerable times in the past. Try search.

if this is brought in i'd imagine a mass selling of ectos and a nice bit of them would be worthless. uw farming pointless etc.

I don't think ectoplasm was installed in the game for economic reasons.. It's for FOW remember. It would just mean that ecto would be used for it's created purpose instead of a cash buffer. Mind you those people who sold a mini rollerbeetle for 1500 ecto would be a little put out.

Selling these items would defeat the whole purpose of the 100k / 1000k cap on characters / storage. ANet might as well just remove that.

Just because the overall community used ectos as such does not mean that was what it was intended for.
